*Correction* Anthony Depiazza's correct age is 39.

During the service of a search warrant today at a residence located in the 2000 block of Van Karajan Drive, Rancho Palos Verdes, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators arrested the primary suspect in the murder of 39 year-old Anthony Depiazza.

Depiazza’s body was found dumped in a shallow grave in Riverside County in November 2015, however investigators believe the murder occurred in a residence located in the 2000 block of Van Karajan Drive in Rancho Palos Verde.

The 55 year-old Caucasian suspect barricaded himself in a bedroom and refused to exit, even after several individuals who were living at the residence had been detained. After the response of the LASD Special Enforcement Bureau, and several hours later, the suspect eventually surrendered and was arrested.

Homicide Investigators are in the process of searching the home for evidence related to the murder and interviewing the suspect as well as other people who were living there.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.

UNIT: Special Enforcement Bureau

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) Special Weapons Team responded to the 2000 block of Van Karajan Drive, Rancho Palos Verdes, to assist Lomita Station deputies and Homicide Bureau detectives regarding a Barricaded Suspect.

Several people were detained, one of which was possibly involved in a murder.

Homicide Bureau detectives are in the process of serving a search warrant at the location for any evidence related to the murder.
