On 12/03/2015 during the early afternoon hours, wanted registered sex offender 54 year old Steven J. Laskowski of Albion, Indiana was located and apprehended by the US Marshals Service Great Lakes Taskforce. Laskowski was taken into custody without incident in the 2600 block of Marion Dr in Kendallville, Indiana. Laskowski was wanted out of Steuben County on an arrest warrant charging Laskowski with three level 6 felony counts of failure to register as a sex or violent offender. The arrest warrant followed a Steuben County Sheriff’s investigation into allegations that Laskowski failed to report required information to the Sheriff’s Office. Once the arrest warrant was issued, Sheriff’s detectives reached out to Senior Inspector William Boothe of the US Marshals Service Northern District of Indiana for assistance in apprehending Laskowski. Senior Inspector Boothe is the Sex Offender Investigations Coordinator for the US Marshals Service and part of the US Marshals Service Great Lakes Taskforce in the Northern District of Indiana. Laskowski was booked into the Steuben County Jail and posted 10 percent of a $3,000.00 cash bond and was released.
