On Monday November 23rd, 2015 at approximately 12:08 pm, members of the Absecon Police Department responded to the Shoprite Food Market-616 White Horse Pike, for a report of a vehicle that had crashed into the building. When units arrived on scene, a black 2016 Chevy Tahoe was resting upright against the front of the main entrance foyer. Luckily, there were no bystanders in the area of the time of the crash. The driver, a 87 year old male from Galloway, suffered only minor injury and was later transported to the hospital by the Absecon Rescue Squad for evaluation. During the investigation, the driver stated he accidently applied his foot onto the accelerator instead of the brake. The Chevy Tahoe sped forward, collided into a steal pollard, and came to rest against the building causing minor damage.
