Chemical Endangerment Arrest

(Etowah County, Alabama) An Attalla woman has been arrested for chemical endangerment of a child, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

"Krystle Johnson Lemley, 31, of Attalla, was arrested and is charged with chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed, which is a felony,” investigator Brandi Fuller said.

Lemley admitted to illegally using Suboxone while pregnant. Her newborn baby tested positive for the same drug and had an extended hospital stay while going through Suboxone withdrawal.

Lemley is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $10,000 bond. She must complete a treatment program and upon release will be supervised by Community Corrections.

The Etowah County Department of Human Resources is involved with the case.
