*Update* LASD Homicide Investigates death of a woman, 8600 Block of Bradwell Avenue, Unincorporated Whittier

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a female adult who was discovered on Sunday, November 29, 2015 in Unincorporated Whittier.

Homicide detectives have learned that at approximately 1:10 p.m., deputies from Pico Rivera Station responded to Rivera Road, west of Bradwell Avenue, unincorporated Whittier, in response to an “abandoned vehicle” call.

Upon deputies’ arrival, the deputies approached the vehicle, a red, 1991 Toyota Celica Hatchback, and smelled a very strong odor indicative of decomposition.  The deputies further checked the vehicle and found the victim, a female Hispanic adult, in the rear cargo area.  The victim, who appears to be between the ages of 20 and 25, was entombed in a large container.

The cause of death is unknown and the identity of the victim will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
