Three Injured in Rollover Crash
Vigo County—Last night around 10:10, Indiana State Police and Vigo County emergency agencies responded to a single vehicle rollover crash on Dallas Drive just west of Singhurst Street.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 1998 Jeep Wrangler, driven by 16-year-old Cory Helton of Terre Haute, IN., was traveling westbound on Dallas Drive and for an unknown reason, traveled off the roadway, struck a culvert, and rolled onto its side.
Helton and his two passengers, 17-year-old Tyler Williams and 16-year-old Trevor Whitecotton, all of Terre Haute, were taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for possible internal injuries and complaint of pain.
Following the rollover, Williams was pinned beneath the vehicle for approximately 20 minutes before firefighters were able to extricate him.
No tickets were issued and drugs/alcohol were not a factor. Seatbelts are believed to have been in use.
The crash was investigated by ISP Trooper Brian Thomas. Assisting were the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, Riley Fire/Rescue, Honey Creek Fire/Rescue, and CARE ambulance.
Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
