Jackson Police Department Memorial Tree

A Memorial Tree honoring officers who gave the ultimate sacrifice is on display in the lobby of the Jackson Police Department. The tree will remain on display throughout the holiday season.

The memorial tree adorned with four thin blue-line black ornaments represent officers who gave the ultimate sacrifice, in the State of Tennessee, during 2015 and the three solid black ornaments represent officers who gave their all for the Jackson Police Department.

“At the end of the holiday season, the ornaments representing officers who gave the ultimate sacrifice, during 2015, will be sent to their respective agencies with an accommodating letter,” said Aimee Oxley, Memorial Tree creator. The three solid black ornaments will remain with the Jackson Police Department.

The Memorial Tree was donated by Dewayne Sumner who is a manager at Hobby Lobby.

With deepest sympathy, the Jackson Police Department recognizes the Ultimate Sacrifice of these 2015 officers: Park Ranger James M. Wallen Jr., Deputy Sheriff Rosemary Vela, Police Officer Sean M. Bolten, and Detective Michael Starrett.

The Jackson Police Department continues to honor the memory of fallen officers: Sergeant Andy T. Baily 2004, Police Officer John T. Johns 1931, and Police Officer Newton C. Perkins 1876.
