Press Release: Man Arrested on Drug Charges

ACCUSED: James Soweski age 37 Long Branch, NJ
NARRATIVE:
On November 21, 2015 at approximately 1:16 am, Officer Dean H. Schoch II was on patrol in the area of the Asbury Park Circle when he observed a vehicle driving with a defective tail light. A motor vehicle stop was initiated by Officer Schoch on State Highway 18 for that violation. A subsequent investigation revealed that the operator of the vehicle, James Soweski of Long Branch, was found to be in possession of a small bag of cocaine as well as under 50 grams of marijuana. Mr. Soweski was placed under arrest and transported to the Township of Ocean Police Headquarters for processing.
James Soweski was charged with possession of Cocaine, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana as well as operating a motor vehicle with drugs inside, not possessing a valid insurance card and failing to maintain lamps on a motor vehicle. He was released on complaint summonses and is scheduled to appear at a future court hearing.
