Transient Sought in Murder of 21-year-old Woman, East Los Angeles
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a female adult that occurred on Saturday, November 21, 2015, in the 470 block of South Sydney Drive, East Los Angeles.
Detectives have learned that at approximately one o’clock in the morning, East Los Angeles Deputies responded to an “Assault with a Deadly Weapon” call. Upon their arrival, deputies found the victim, 21-year-old Kassandra Ochoa, bleeding and unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect, Antonio Medina, was in a dating relationship with the victim. According to witnesses, Medina, a 28-year-old Hispanic male, was seen fleeing the scene after he was heard arguing with the victim. At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing what appeared to be a grey thermal shirt and dark pants.
The Los Angeles County Department of Coroner determined that the victim suffered blunt force trauma to her head, resulting in her death.
The suspect, who stands 5’7” and weighs approximately 180 lbs, is believed to be a transient from the Los Angeles area. Specifically, he is known to frequent the East Los Angeles area, and Homicide Detectives think he may still be in the area.
If you recognize the suspect, Antonio Medina, in the attached photographs, or have any information of his whereabouts, please contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
