Pendleton Post to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint
Henry County- Lieutenant Tom Dujmovich, Commander of the Pendleton Post of the Indiana State Police, has announced there will be a sobriety checkpoint held somewhere in Henry County, which is part of the Pendleton District, during the evening hours of Wednesday November 25, 2015.
Motorists are asked to have their driver's license and vehicle registration readily available when entering the checkpoint, so as to minimize the amount of time they are delayed. Motorists can expect short delays of only two to three minutes during the checkpoint.
The Pendleton State Police Post serves Delaware, Madison, Randolph, Henry, Wayne Fayette, Union, and Rush Counties. Before and after the checkpoint troopers will be holding saturation patrols looking for impaired drivers.
A FEW PRECAUTIONS:
- Plan ahead and always designate someone as a designated driver
- Don't get behind the wheel of a vehicle if you've been consuming alcoholic beverages
- If you are impaired, please call a taxi or call a sober friend or family member to come and get you
- If you are hosting a party, always offer alcohol-free beverages, and make sure that all of your guests leave with a sober driver
- Remember, Friends Don't Let Friends Drive Drunk. Take the keys and never let a friend leave your sight if you think that they are about to drive while impaired.
The Indiana State Police remains committed to reducing the number of impaired driving crashes as well as all crashes. Motorists are encouraged to report suspected impaired drivers by calling 911. Give a vehicle description, location, and direction of travel. Never follow an impaired driver.
