Advisory: (UPDATE) CRIMINAL HOMICIDE - 2800 SUNNYFIELD COURT

UPDATE

 

 

Indianapolis- Today, Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry announced formal charges in the Amanda Blackburn homicide investigation. Larry Jo Taylor of Indianapolis and Jalen Watson of Indianapolis have been formally charged with multiple felony charges including murder. For copies of the probable cause and charging affidavits, contact the Marion County Prosecutor's Office.

UPDATE

 

 INDIANAPOLIS - Today, Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Violent Crimes Unit and Gang Units along with federal assistance from the United States Marshals Services have arrested 18-year-old Larry Taylor of Indianapolis on a preliminary charge of Murder.  

 


 

"We are thankful to our federal, state and local partnerships that aided in the apprehension of the suspect in this terrible and senseless crime. All victims of criminal homicides deserve closure, and as a community we must send a collective message that violence is not an option," said IMPD Chief Rick Hite.  "Our detectives have worked tirelessly going days without sleep to solve murders in our city.  With the assistance of Assistant U.S. Attorney Josh Minkler and Prosecutor Terry Curry justice will be done!" 


 

The Marion County Proscutor's Office will review this case for a charging decision.   Currently, no current booking photo is available for release. Official updates will come directly from the IMPD public information office. All other information regarding this case is not official.

INDIANAPOLIS - Investigators continue to follow up on all investigative leads in the murder of Amanda Blackburn. We continue to talk with individuals who may have some knowledge of the case. We will keep you posted on any new developments.  No other information is available at this time.

UPDATE

INDIANAPOLIS - Homicide investigators have authorized the release of the attached still photos (two) obtained from the surveillance camera system of a home on Sunnyfield Court. 

Investigators urge anyone that recognizes this individual, or has any information about the individual's identity, to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-TIPS (8477). 

This release may be updated at a later time, if and when, any new information is made available.

INDIANAPOLIS - On November 10, 2015 at around 8:35 a.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to assist IFD units at a residence in the 2800 block of Sunnyfield Court after it was determined an adult female victim at the residence had been assaulted. When officers arrived, they located the victim at the home, unresponsive, and suffering from apparent signs of trauma. She was transported to IU Methodist Hospital in critical condition at that time, and her condition remains unchanged.

This incident remains under investigation at this time. Detectives are canvassing the area for information, and the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency is processing the crime scene for evidentiary value. Suspect(s) information has not been released by investigators at this time.  Investigators urge anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262-TIPS (8477).  All information shared via Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana is considered anonymous.

This release may be updated at a later time, if and when, investigators  release additional information regarding this on-going investigation.
