Burglary Arrest

(Etowah County, Alabama) A Boaz man has been arrested in connection to a recent burglary in Etowah County, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“David Andrew Johnson, 19, of Boaz, is charged with one count of second degree burglary, one count of second degree theft of property and one count of possession of burglar’s tools, all are felonies,” investigator Tyler St. Clair said.

Johnson allegedly broke into a residence on John L. Gap Road. The resident was inside the home when she heard someone outside attempting to break in through a door. The victim hid insider her home and called 9-1-1. Sardis City Police Chief James Harp heard the dispatched call, responded to the scene and detained Johnson as he was leaving the residence.

Johnson is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $10,000 bond.
