On November 21, 2015 at approximately 1:06 am an APD Officer was involved in a collision. The officer was en route to a priority call driving Code 3, lights and siren, in the 4000 block of East Amarillo Blvd. As he was going to his call a 1999 Toyota 4 door driven by Zahra Abdi Muse, BF, 40 of Amarillo failed to yield right of way to an emergency vehicle. The Officer was behind the Toyota for several moments. When the driver did not move out of his lane he went to pass them on the right. As he was passing the Toyota, the driver changed lanes into him striking the 2014 Ford Police Interceptor. Muse was taken to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The officer was uninjured. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Division of the Amarillo Police Dept.
