Near Royal City, Wash (22NOV2015): The continued search for a missing North Bend hunter, Thomas Stieg, age 55, has been called off for the night and will resume tomorrow morning. He was last known to be above the bluffs of Crab Creek, west of Royal City.
Thomas was reported missing yesterday when he didn’t return home after a one day hunt. Searchers today included Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Grant County Search and Rescue, Mounted Posse, Grant County Fire District 10 and 11, Department of Fish and Wildlife, Spokane Sheriff’s Office, and numerous civilian volunteers. Civilian aircraft volunteered for the search followed by a helicopter from Spokane Sheriff’s Office. Ground searchers were on foot, horseback, or ATV/ORV.
Grant County Sheriff’s Office is now requesting the assistance of volunteers for tomorrow’s search. Available volunteers with knowledge of the area, and in good physical shape for the hiking conditions, are asked to show up tomorrow morning when the search resumes:

Directions: State Route 26 west of Royal City, go south on Road J-SW for 1 mile, go east on Road 14 for 1/4 mile, then south on Road I.8 SW. Go 1/2 mile and curve to the right on Road 14.5. Go 3/4 mile to the traffic cones. The search area is south of there. Follow the power line road.

Thomas Mark Stieg is described as 6 feet tall and approximately 180 pounds. He was last known wearing camouflage clothing and would have had his archery equipment with him. Stieg reportedly left home at 3am on November 20th for a one day hunt. His last known whereabouts are in the bluffs above Crab Creek, approximately 2.5 miles south of Hwy 26, west of Royal City. Stieg was driving a black 2013 Ford F150, license plate number B58677Y.
