North Bend archery hunter missing near Crab Creek, Royal City. Public’s help needed.
Near Royal City, Wash (21NOV2015): An archery hunter has been reported missing when he didn’t return or make contact with his family as of last night. His last known whereabouts are in the bluffs above Crab Creek, approximately 2.5 miles south of Hwy 26, west of Royal City.

The missing man is identified as Thomas Mark Stieg, age 55. He is described as 6 feet tall and approximately 180 pounds. He was last known wearing camouflage clothing and would have had his archery equipment with him. Stieg reportedly left home at 3am on November 20th for a one day hunt.

Stieg was driving a black 2013 Ford F150, license plate number B58677Y. While his vehicle has been located, he has not been found as of nightfall when the search had to be called off. The search will resume tomorrow morning.

According to his family, Mr. Stieg is an experienced mountaineer and survivalist, as well as a former marine. However, with frigid temperatures expected again tonight, the assistance of other hunters that may have been in the area is very important to searchers right now.

If anyone has any information on Mr. Stieg’s known whereabouts, please call MACC at 911 or (509) 762-1160.
