Simi Valley Police Seek Assistance to Identify Child Annoyance Suspect
The Simi Valley Police Department is seeking assistance from the community regarding recent child annoyance activity. On October 28, 2015, the Simi Valley Police Department released information regarding two previous incidents. Over the past few weeks, there have been a number of additional incidents where a male in a white car has approached adolescent and teenaged girls as they were walking to and from school. This individual has offered rides in his car to the girls and in some cases has solicited sex acts. The suspect has been described as a male Hispanic, aged 18-30, who drives a white four-door car.
The Simi Valley Police Department’s Detective Unit has been working with the Simi Valley Unified School District to keep parents and staff informed of this activity. Both SVPD and SVUSD encourage the immediate reporting of incidents that are occurring or just occurred to SVPD by calling 9-1-1. Anyone who has additional information is asked to come forward and report any suspicious behavior as soon as they become aware of the activity. We also would like parents to discuss this behavior with their children so that they know to report any similar incidents immediately to the Police Department.
To file a report for an incident that is over an hour old, we ask you to call SVPD Dispatch at (805) 583-6950.
If you have any information or tips regarding these crimes, please contact Detective Nicholson at (805) 583-6961. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may contact Ventura County Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-TIPS (8477), Text “BUSTED” plus a message to CRIMES(274637), or submit a tip online at http://www.venturacountycrimestoppers.org
