Sheriff Joseph M Underwood Jr. is reporting that his Deputies investigated a crash on Cherry Grove Rd near Peavine St in Lagrange Twp on 11/20/15 at 0748. The Deputies are reporting that a vehicle driven by Eddie Ruiz, 62 yrs old from South Bend In., was stopped at the stop sign on Peavine St. Mr. Ruiz did not see the North bound vehicle driven by Raymond Brickheimer, 20 yrs old from New Buffalo. Mr. Brickheimer tried to miss the vehicle but was unable to and struck it. Mr. Brickheimer then went into the ditch and struck a electric pole. Mr. Brickheimer was transported to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac for minor injuries. Mr. Ruiz did not sustain any injuries. Safety belts were used and alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The Cass County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Wayne Twp Fire Department, Michigan State Police, Cassopolis Fire Department, and Pride Care Ambulance.
