APD invetigating early Wednesday moring report of shots fired in south Amarillo. No arrest at this time.

On Wednesday November 18th at 7:03am, APD officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of Meadow on a reported vandalism. Responding officers were then advised that a suspect vehicle may have been shot at. Upon arrival officers spoke with the complainant who advised that he was awaken by some noises coming from his driveway area at approximately 7am. The complainant stated that he grabbed his 12 gauge shotgun and went outside to investigate. As he was checking the vehicles in his driveway he noticed that someone had busted out numerous windows on his vehicle. As he was going back inside to call the police, he observed a vehicle driving down the street that he recognized as belonging to his girlfriends, ex-boyfriend. As the vehicle got closer he heard what he described as a gunshot coming from the vehicle. Believing he was being shot at, the complainant fired one shot from his shotgun striking the passenger side back door area. The suspect vehicle continued on leaving the area. The suspect has not been located at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
