Chemical Endangerment Arrest
(Etowah County, Alabama) An Altoona woman has been arrested for chemical endangerment of a child, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
"Ashley Starr Alford Ramos, 26, of Altoona, was arrested Wednesday, November 18, and charged with chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed, which is a felony,” investigator Brandi Fuller said.
Alford/Ramos admitted to using methamphetamine and smoking marijuana while pregnant. Her newborn baby tested positive for the same drugs.
Alford/Ramos is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $10,000 bond. She is also being detained for the Attalla Police Department and Probation.
The Etowah County Department of Human Resources assisted with this case.
