Flood Warning issued until 945 AM Thursday
The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Flood Warning for Haralson, Polk and Paulding Counties until 945 AM Thursday.
At 340 PM National Weather Service Doppler Radar and Automated Rain Gauges indicated that heavy rain was falling over the warned area. The runoff from the heavy rain may cause flooding on numerous streams and small creeks by this evening. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area before ending by 1000 PM. The creeks and rivers in the warned area will continue to rise throughout the night.
Do not attempt to cross water or unknown depth, on foot or in an automobile. Do not drive around barricades. Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Do not stay in areas subject to flooding when water begins rising.
