Corporal James Promoted to Squad Sergeant

 

Indianapolis, IN-Monday, November 16th, Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas Carter promoted Corporal Tim James to the rank of Sergeant to serve as a squad leader at the Indianapolis District. James was selected after competing in a stringent written and oral interview process.

James graduated from Warren Central High School in Bowling Green, Kentucky in 1991. He attended Western Kentucky University and graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology.  

Sgt. James began his law enforcement career in 2000 upon graduation from the 60th Indiana State Police Academy. He was assigned to the Indianapolis Post and patrolled Marion County. In 2011, James was promoted to corporal at the Indianapolis Post where he has served as the district duty officer until receiving the promotion to sergeant.

James primary duty as sergeant at the Indianapolis Post will be to supervise the seven midnight shift troopers assigned to Marion County.

Sergeant James resides in Marion County.
