Burglary/Theft Arrests

(Etowah County, Alabama) Four individuals have been arrested in connection to a recent burglary in Etowah County, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Ace Antonio Pierre Belcher, 27, Randy Joe Mabe, 34, Erica Lashae Hicks, 29, all of Altoona, and August Jack Tanner, 38, of Boaz, are each charged with one count of third degree burglary, one count of second degree theft of property and one count of possession of burglary tools, all are felonies,” Sgt. Robin Grant said.

Belcher, Mabe and Tanner allegedly broke into a residence located on Mayo Road, Altoona, on Saturday, November 14. The home owner pulled into the driveway and witnessed three males climbing out of a bedroom window. Mabe and Tanner were able to escape in a vehicle that was driven by Hicks. Belcher was held at gun point, by the home owner’s boyfriend, until deputies arrived at the scene.

Altoona Police Officer Tyler Young spotted the getaway vehicle less than a mile from the incident while responding to the area.

Property taken from the residence, valued at more than $1,000, was found inside the vehicle. It has been returned to the rightful owner.

Sgt. Robin Grant said the quick response of Officer Young, along with deputies Jack Beasley, Sherri Bellew and Sgt. Bradley Saylor helped close this case swiftly and safe.

All four individuals were booked into the Etowah County Detention Center on $7,500 bond each.
