Two Injured in Sullivan County Crash
Sullivan County—This morning around 8:40, Indiana State Police and Sullivan County emergency agencies responded to a two-vehicle crash in the northbound lanes of US 41 at State Road 58, which sent two to the hospital.
Preliminary investigation revealed a maroon 1994 Chevrolet S 10 pickup, driven by 75-year-old Charles Scott Sr. of Merom, IN., was eastbound on State Road 58 and attempted to cross US 41. In doing so, Scott drove into the path of a northbound red 2010 Dodge SUV, driven by 62-year-old Frances Harvey of Oaktown, IN.
Charles Scott was treated at the scene and released. Scott was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
Frances Harvey and her mother, 88-year-old Melba Haythorne of Oaktown, IN., were transported to Sullivan County Community Hospital. Harvey for shoulder pain and Haythorne for neck and back pain.
Seatbelts in use by all occupants.
The crash was investigated by ISP Senior Trooper Tom Hanks. Assisting were ISP Master Trooper Polly Blackburn, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Bobbitt, Carlisle Town Marshal, Sullivan County EMS, and Hadden Township Fire/Rescue.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
