Putnamville Post to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint
Vigo County—The Putnamville District of the Indiana State Police will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint at an undisclosed location in Vigo County during the late evening hours of Friday, November 20, 2015. Troopers will be assisted by the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office.
Drivers should have their operator’s license and vehicle registrations available for a quick review. Passing through the checkpoint should only take two to three minutes.
To ensure traffic safety on our roadways, the Indiana State Police offer the following safety tips:
- Do not drink and drive
- Use a designated driver
- If hosting a party or large gathering, offer non-alcoholic beverages and ensure a safe ride home for those who have consumed alcohol
- Friends don’t let friends drive impaired
- If you suspect a drunk driver, dial 911
The Indiana State Police will routinely use saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints to ensure traffic safety and combat impaired driving.
Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
