Indianapolis Man Arrested for Confinement and Meth

Henry County – An Indianapolis man was arrested shortly before midnight last night after his mother entered the New Lisbon Truck Plaza and advised the employees there that her son had been holding her against her will.  Employees called 9-1-1 and Henry County Dispatch put out the call. Troopers Paige and Tucker were nearby when they heard the dispatch and arrived at 11:56 p.m.

The troopers located the suspect vehicle with Jeremy Jones, age 28 of Indianapolis, sitting in the driver’s seat.  The victim, Carman Jones, age 53 of Indianapolis, was located inside the truck stop. She advised her son had picked her up at her home on the west side of Indy to go purchase cigarettes, but had refused to stop. He had continued to drive east on I-70 until stopping at the New Lisbon Truck Plaza.

Further investigation by Troopers Paige and Tucker found that Jeremy Jones was Under the Influence of Methamphetamine. Jeremy Jones was arrested and charged with Dealing Methamphetamine, Level 5 Felony; Possession of Methamphetamine, Level 6 Felony; Kidnapping, Level 6 Felony; Confinement, Level 6 Felony and Operating While Intoxicated, Level 6 Felony.

In addition Jeremy Jones was charged with Possession of a Syringe, Level 6 Felony and Possession of Paraphernalia, Class “A” Misdemeanor.  He was lodged in the Henry County Jail. Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Henry County Sheriff's Department.
