Yesterday at 6:18 PM Altadena Mountain Rescue Team was called to search for 2 female adults lost in the area of Eaton Canyon, in the Angeles National Forest. T...he were able to use their cell phone to direct in rescue crews to their location.

Units from Altadena Mountain Rescue Team hiked into Eaton Canyon and located both hikers in Eaton Canyon approximately 1/2 mile north of the start of the trail, at the base of the waterfall. Rescue members gave the pair flashlights and lead them out of the canyon. The hikers were not injured and once out of the canyon the hikers left in their vehicle. The hikers did the right thing, and stayed in the same spot and called for help.

The hikers, both 19 year old females residing in Los Angeles were on a hike to Eaton Canyon Waterfall when the sun set and the hikers could not see the trail leading out of the canyon. The hikers had no lights with them, however they were able to call the Altadena Sheriff Station and request help. The call took about 2 hours to complete.
