INCIDENT: Strong Arm Robbery

LOCATION: 12549 East Foothill Boulevard (Walmart)

VICTIM(S):

SUMMARY: On November 7, 2015, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Deputies Chris Henry and John Meyers from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to WalMart for a report of a robbery. Henry and Meyers interviewed several witnesses and determined the suspect passed a note to the cashier that stated he had a gun and demanded money from the register. The suspect received approximately $500.00 from the cashier and left the WalMart in a red Isuzu Rodeo.

Through investigation, the suspect was identified as Robert Rivera. Rivera’s residence was located in the city of Ontario. Ontario Police Department was notified and requested to check Rivera’s residence for the vehicle involved in the robbery.

At approximately 12:10 p.m., Ontario Police Department located the Isuzu Rodeo parked in front of Rivera’s residence. Deputies responded to Rivera’s residence and assisted Ontario Police Department with contacting Rivera. Deputies contacted Rivera via telephone and after a short conversation, Rivera was taken into custody without incident. A search warrant for Rivera’s residence was executed, and items linking Rivera to the robbery were located. Rivera was also linked to a similar robbery in October at the Ontario WalMart.
