**3rd Update** #LASD Homicide Detectives Arrest Stabbing Death Suspect, Tuesday, November 10, 2015 @TransitLASD

On Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at approximately 3 p.m., Transit Policing Division – Central Operations Bureau deputies located an individual, in the area where the stabbing had occurred, matching the physical and clothing description of the primary suspect of a murder that occurred on a Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus. 

The individual, 43-year-old Allen Jay Milton, was detained and transported to East Los Angeles Station for questioning by Homicide detectives.

He was later arrested and booked for Murder and is being held in lieu of $1,000, 000 bail.

The suspect’s booking photo is not being released at this time.

TRANSIT POLICING DIVISION CHIEF’S STATEMENT:

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department - Transit Policing Division provides police services to all of Metro’s buses, trains, and properties. The Division is led by Chief Ronene Anda.  Chief Anda states, “Metro’s system is not only very safe, it is equipped to help catch those who commit crimes on Metro property.  Metro provides well over a million rides on any given weekday, with about four part one crimes per million boardings.  But for those who commit these crimes, including one as heinous as this, between the partnership between LASD Transit, Metro, and the utilization of safety technologies, you will be caught and prosecuted.”

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing death of a man that occurred on Monday, November 9, 2015, at North Figueroa Street and Meridian Street, in the Highland Park area of Los Angeles.

Detectives have learned that three male Hispanic suspects entered bus line 81 at 57th Avenue and Figueroa Street, Los Angeles. They then walked to the back of the bus where they began to argue with the victim. During the argument, one of the suspects produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest. When the bus came to a stop at the intersection of North Figueroa Street and Meridian Street, Los Angeles, the suspects immediately exited and fled westbound on Meridian Street.

The victim, a male Hispanic adult, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is still on-going.
