Our k9's attended an international competition and did very well!! Kudos to Officers Nuttall and Quiroga for representing us so well.

On November 6th and 7th 2015, Officer Quiroga and Officer Nuttall, along with their K-9 partners participated in the 20th annual Riverside Sheriff’s Department K-9 trials in Norco, California. Sixty-one K-9 teams from around the state and region competed including Las Vegas Metro PD, Los Angeles Airport Police, Chula Vista PD, the United States Marine Corp and teams from Mexico and Canada to name a few.

The two-day competition tested the teams in the areas of narcotics detection, evidence location, protection, agility and obedience. I am proud to announce Officer Quiroga and Marko placed 4th overall at the competition, while Officer Nuttall and Brando placed 5th in the “Handler Protection” event. This is a great accomplishment for both teams. Once again the National City Police Department K9 unit did an outstanding job!

Please join me in congratulating Officer Quiroga and Officer Nuttall, as well as their four-legged partners.
