Date: November 9, 2015
Incident: Public Safety Awareness
Location: Cities of Loma Linda and Grand Terrace
Summary: Recently, the cities of Loma Linda and Grand Terrace have experienced a number of incidents of vehicle theft. A common element in the most recent thefts is the make of the vehicles: all Honda Civics or Accords. This pattern is consistent with national vehicle theft crime data which indicates the Honda automobile is one of the vehicles with the highest frequency of theft in the United States. Additionally, several vehicles have been broken into and had contents removed.
As we enter the holiday season, the community is urged to secure their parked vehicles:
• Double-check that all doors are locked.
• Do not leave valuable items inside your vehicle in plain sight.
• Park in well-lighted areas whenever possible.
• Install and set alarms, ignition immobilizers, and anti-theft devices.
• Immediately report suspicious persons or activity to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department at (909) 387-8313.
Our highest priority remains the public's safety . If you have any questions or information, please contact the Sheriff's Department at (909) 387-3545.
