Construction Zone Traffic Stop Yields Wanted Person
Vigo County—This afternoon at 1:39, Indiana State Police Master Trooper Ty Lightle was patrolling an Interstate 70 construction zone for dangerous and impaired driving, when he radar tracked a gray 2015 Dodge Dart traveling 96 miles-per-hour in a 55mph zone in the westbound lanes near the three mile marker.
Further investigation revealed the driver, 29-year-old Antwaane C. Buie of St. Louis, Missouri was found to not have a valid driver’s license. Buie was cited and released for 96mph in a 55mph zone; no valid license; and improper passing on the right.
A front seat passenger, 29-year-old Darisha Taylor of St. Louis, Missouri was found to be wanted during a routine computer check. Taylor was wanted by St. Louis authorities for felony aggravated Identity Theft and by the US District Court of Eastern Missouri for the felonious Passing of Counterfeit Securities. Taylor was incarcerated in the Vigo County Jail with no bond.
The vehicle was released to the rear seat passenger who possessed a valid driver’s license.
Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
