HCSO: Sheriff Reinstates Basic Peace Officer's Course - Class B1-15
HARRIS COUNTY, TX – Please join Harris County Sheriff Ron Hickman and the Harris County Sheriff’s Training Academy for the first reporting of Sheriff’s Academy Class B1-15.
Upon taking office, Sheriff Ron Hickman committed the Sheriff’s Office to reinstating the tradition of holding Basic Peace Officer’s Courses (BPOC) at the Harris County Sheriff’s Training Academy. For over 7 years, the Sheriff’s Office has relied on outside academies to train and license its peace officers.
BPOC classes instill the traditions, culture and values of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office in its cadets.

• 7:30 am – Cadets arrive
• 7:30 am – Academy staff take command of Class B1-15

In October Sheriff Hickman swore in the graduates of his first Basic County Corrections Course (BCCC) for Detention Officers. The course is designed to improve upon the previous standards for Detention Officer training, including a rigorous classroom and hands on curriculum.
