Special Olympics Tip-A-Cop results 
On Wednesday November 4, 2015, the Signal Hill Police Department partnered with the Southern California Special Olympics for another Tip-A-Cop fundraising event. Members of the Police Department were teamed up with waiters/waitresses from Applebee's as "Guest Servers" taking orders, refilling drinks, serving food, and bussing tables for hungry guests. At the end of the meal, diners had the opportunity to make a donation to Southern California Special Olympics by "Tip-A-Cop" tips to their guest servers.
The evening raised $2,573 that will directly benefits Special Olympics athletes in the local Long Beach/Signal Hill area. The monies will help train and sponsor competitions for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
Chief Michael Langston commented, "We are so proud to help with a worthy cause and grateful for the huge show of support from our local community. We are looking forward to making this an annual event!"
