Jennifer Mathis, of Marion, charged with possession of methamphetamine after search of home 
Detective Shane Vance of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Jennifer Leigh Mathis, 34, of Toms Creek Road in Marion, with felony possession of methamphetamine and felony maintaining a place to keep a controlled substance.
On Wednesday, Oct. 14, McDowell County sheriff’s deputies and Marion police officers assisted probation officers with a search of Mathis’ Toms Creek Road residence.
Mathis is on probation, which means she is subject to warrantless searches.
Inside the house, authorities found a small amount of methamphetamine.
