Chemical Endangerment Arrest

(Etowah County, Alabama) An Attalla woman has been arrested for chemical endangerment of a child, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

"Tosha Nicole Kirby, 28, of Attalla, was arrested and charged with chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed, which is a felony,” investigator Brandi Fuller said.

Kirby, knowing she was pregnant, admitted to using methamphetamine. She tested positive for methamphetamine, barbiturates and opiates. Her newborn baby also test positive for methamphetamine and opiates.

Kirby is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $10,000 bond. Upon release, she must successfully complete a treatment program.
