VEHICLE VS PEDESTRIAN COLLISION

On October 28th, 2015, at 7:10 p.m. Morgan Hill Police were dispatched to an injury collision involving a pedestrian on Monterey Road north of Spring Ave. While responding to the call, officers learned a vehicle traveling northbound on Monterey Road had struck a pedestrian running across the roadway during the busy evening commute. Upon arrival, officers contacted both involved parties and rendered aid to the injured pedestrian.

Officers initiated their investigation as Fire and EMS personnel arrived at the scene. Due to the severity of the pedestrian’s injuries, he was transported to Regional Hospital by paramedics. The 57 year old male resident of Morgan Hill was struck while in the northbound lane of Monterey Road and landed on the shoulder of the roadway. The female driver involved in the collision was not hurt and remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation. At the time of the collision, there were no signs of driving under the influence of alcohol however the pedestrian’s sobriety is in question. The collision is currently being investigated by the Morgan Hill Police Traffic Unit.
