The murder victim was visiting friends on West Maple Street in the city of Compton when the suspects walked up and shot him and his friends. The victim was wearing his red work uniform shirt but was confirmed not to be a gang member. His two friends were local college football players with no verified gang affiliation. They survived their wounds. Defendants Lamont Arron Kellum MB/23 and Eric Anthony Stocker MB/22 were found guilty of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder and shooting at an inhabited dwelling. Allegations found to be true were; Personal use of a firearm causing death (12022.53(d) PC and Gang membership (186.22(b)(1) PC.
