6 People Arrested During Probation and Parole Compliance Operation
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Gang Enforcement Unit, with assistance from the Santa Barbara County Probation Department, Santa Barbara Regional Criminal Apprehension Team (SBRCAT) and the Santa Barbara Police Department, conducted a probation and parole compliance operation today, October 27, in the Cities of Goleta, Carpinteria, Santa Barbara and in the unincorporated area of South County. Teams conducted probation searches, served several violation of probation arrest warrants and conducted a series of probation compliance checks. More than twenty individuals were contacted. As a result, six people were arrested without incident.
The arrests include:
• 34-year-old Ricardo Romo of Goleta for a parole violation.
• 25-year-old Morgan Whatley of Santa Barbara for manufacturing a controlled substance.
• 34-year-old Ignacio Manzo of Santa Barbara for possession of a narcotic controlled substance.
• 34-year-old Stacy Ibarra of Goleta for possession of drug paraphernalia and a parole violation.
• 28-year-old Gerardo Martinez of Goleta for theft; appropriation of lost property.
• 25-year-old Sergio Valencia of Carpinteria for a probation warrant.
These operations are conducted to ensure that individuals are complying with the terms and conditions of their parole, probation or post-release supervision.
