Animal Cruelty Investigation Update
On Friday, October 23, 2015, Simi Valley Police Department Detectives learned that a pit bull terrier recently found dead on the train tracks was killed accidentally when it was struck by a train. Additionally, the recent death of a cat on Barnes St. originally believed to be an intentional act, has now been revised and appears to have been the result of a coyote or other unknown animal. Thus, there has only been one case involving intentional animal cruelty, which occurred over Labor Day Weekend in Foothill Park (See Attached Reward Poster). This was a heinous act and the Ventura County Animal Services has posted a reward for anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect(s) in this case. Simi Valley Police Detective Jeff Quartararo is still seeking the Public's assistance in identifying these suspect(s) Anyone with information on this case should call Detective Quartararo at (805) 583-6950.
