A 44 year old Millersburg woman was taken into custody Wednesday night after leading deputies on a lengthy car chase.

Deputy Little was conducting surveillance at a Sugarcreek Township business after the owners reported that a large amount of lawn furniture had been stolen over the past few weeks. At approximately 6:48pm the woman returned to the business that had closed for the day and loaded a large lawn chair into her van and drove away.

Deputy Little attempted to stop the vehicle but the woman refused to pull over as the chase started eastbound on US 250. Continuing, the woman went south into Holmes County before turning around and coming back north. When the woman arrived at the intersection of SR 241 and Jericho rd, Deputy Wisard was waiting with “stop sticks” and was able to deflate one of the tires of the vehicle.

Although the tire was flattened, the woman continued into Stark County on SR241 until the vehicle became disabled at the intersection of SR 241 and SR 21 in Massillon.

Once stopped the woman jumped out of her call and ordered a passing motorist to “get out of his car”. At that point the woman was taken to the ground by deputies and handcuffed.

The woman was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants and is believed to have stolen over $10,000.00 of product from the business.
