Early this morning, the Oakland Police Department was assisted by the FBI in a joint operation serving multiple search warrants throughout the City of Oakland. The focus of these search warrants were on known gang members who are involved in violent crimes. 15 gang members were detained, multiple arrests have been made, and so far, 5 firearms have been recovered.
Through Operation Ceasefire, the gangs focused on this morning were identified as being most active in recent violence.
Additionally, one assault rifle with a 100-round drum, one shotgun, 10 pounds of marijuana, 100 marijuana plants, three ounces of cocaine, and one ounce of heroin have been recovered. This joint operation is part of the continued commitment of the OPD and FBI to address violent crime in the City of Oakland and to make our communities safe.
