OSBI Agents Investigate Human Remains Found in Tribbey
Tuesday, the Cleveland County District Attorney’s Office asked OSBI to investigate the disappearance of Corey Shane Maxwell, reporting missing to the Norman Police Department September 17. Investigators developed information that Maxwell, 32, was killed and his body discarded at a dumpsite in Tribbey. Wednesday, OSBI special agents dug through an area of the dumpsite and found what appeared to be human remains. Special agents called the Oklahoma Office of the State Medical Examiner for help. This morning, OSBI special agents, District Attorney Task Force #21 members, Moore police officers, Norman police officers, deputies with the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office, medical examiner’s office personnel, and a member of OU’s Archeology Department began searching the dumpsite again. More remains were found that are believed to be human. The medical examiner’s office will make a positive identification of the remains. OSBI special agents also served a search warrant at a home in Moore in relation to the case.
