10/20/15, update:
On October 19th, 2015 at approximately 9:42 PM Burlington Police responded to a hold-up alarm at the Rotary Mart located at 103 Shelburne Street. While officers were being dispatched, the clerk called 911 to report the robbery as well.
Investigation found that a lone suspect; black male, 21-25 years of age, 5’00” – 5’05” tall, of thin build, wearing blue jeans and a blue hooded jacket entered the store. The male suspect was concealing his face with what appears to be a surgical style mask. The male suspect immediately draws a handgun and aimed the gun at the store clerk demanding the money from the register. The suspect then fled the store on foot, northbound with an undisclosed amount of cash. The clerk was not injured during the incident.
Responding uniform officers canvassed for witnesses and evidence while a K-9 was deployed. Evidence was recovered from the scene which is currently being analyzed but the suspect was not apprehended.
The Burlington Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect depicted in the still shots taken from the store surveillance camera. On the evening of October 19, 2015 at approximately 9:42 pm Officers of the Burlington Police Department responded to a hold-up alarm at the Rotary Mart located at 103 Shelburne Street.
While officers were being dispatched, the clerk was simultaneously reporting the robbery to 9-1-1. It was determined that a person armed with what appeared to be a handgun brandished it during the course of the robbery.
An undisclosed amount of cash was taken during the robbery and no one was injured.
The investigation is still in its preliminary stages and any further details will be released as they are confirmed by investigators.
