INCIDENT: Attempt Kidnapping

LOCATION: Liberty Park – 13016 Amethyst Road, Victorville

SUSPECT: Julie Ann Turner, age 52, a resident of Apple Valley

VICTIM: Female, age 6

SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at approximately 6:44 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to an attempt kidnapping that had occurred at Liberty Park, 13016 Amethyst Road in Victorville. Deputies were advised that a white female adult, later identified as Julie Ann Turner, was at the park approaching children, attempting to lure them into her vehicle with candy. The suspect grabbed the victim by her wrist and began pulling her towards her vehicle. The victim immediately began to yell for help and pull away from the suspect. The mother of the child saw what was happening and started running towards her child. Turner let go of the victim and left the park in a 2005 Silver Buick 4 door sedan.

On Wednesday, October 14, 2015, through investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Julie Turner and obtained an arrest warrant for her. Later that same day at approximately 9:38 p.m., Turner was arrested without incident, transported and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for PC 207 Kidnapping. Turner is being held on $500,000 bail and is scheduled for court on October 16th, in Victorville.
