(Harris County, TX) – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Children Unit has arrested and charged a former Spring Independent School District Police officer with sexual assault of a child 14-17 years of age.

Investigators say that 37 year old Damon Michael Jones (DOB 10/21/77), met the then 15 year old complainant at the High School where he was assigned to campus operations.

Jones began texting and phone conversations with the minor, which escalated to a sexual encounter in the summer months of 2015.

The juvenile female made an outcry statement to family members. The family notified Spring ISD Police of the allegations.

Spring ISD Police asked the HCSO Crimes Against Children Unit to investigate, and evidence was obtained to secure an indictment of Jones, by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.

He is currently being held on a $30,000 bond, with a court appearance scheduled for October 16th, 2015 in the 178th District Court.
