Rear End Crash sends One to Hospital

Sheriff Joseph M Underwood Jr is reporting that his deputies investigated a traffic crash that occurred on US 12 near Kessington Rd in Mason Twp on 10/10/15 at 1451 hours. The deputies stated that a vehicle driven by Mellisa Ogorman, 45 yrs old from Lake Odessa Mi, was driving West bound on US 12 with her 3 children, ages 16, 15, and 11. Mrs. Ogorman was braking and slowing down in the roadway because the vehicles in front of her were slowing down. a vehicle driven by Erica Hemminger, 38 yrs old from Niles Mi, did not see the other vehicles slowing down and rear ended Mrs. Ogorman's vehicle. Mrs. Hemminger had some head pains and was transported to Elkhart General Hospital by SEPSA Ambulance Service. Mrs. Hemminger had her daughter in the car, age 1, that was not injured in the traffic crash. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash and safety belts and child restraints were used. The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the SEPSA Ambulance. The crash remains under investigation at this time.
