The trick or treat hours for the City of Lockport are from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, October 31st.  Residents who are handing out items for trick or treat are encouraged to turn on their outdoor lights so that children can identify the house as one to approach.  If children will be out after dark, they should have flashlights or glow sticks and some reflective material on their costumes.

Parents should caution their children not to eat any candy that has not been checked by an adult.  Parents should consider discarding any homemade treats that their children receive. 

We encourage drivers to be extra careful throughout the day on Halloween as their will be an increased amount of pedestrian traffic.  Officers will be in the residential neighborhoods and will be taking a strict stance against drivers who operate their vehicles in an unsafe manner.
