Sonoma County Coroner’s Office identifies the cyclist who died in a crash during the GranFondo
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office is releasing the name of the GranFondo participant who died this morning at about 10:35 during the cycling fundraiser.
Edward Lund, a 54 year old man from Fresno, died from injuries suffered in a cycling accident on the steep decline on King Ridge Road approaching Hauser Bridge in the in the unincorporated region of Sonoma County, north of Cazadero.
There was no indication of foul play or interference by any other cyclists on the roadway. Lund’s family was located and informed of his death.
The Sonoma County Coroner’s Office will schedule an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. The California Highway Patrol is the lead agency conducting the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
