25th Annual Red October Run Saturday October 3, 2015

Dear Wayne Residents:

On Saturday, October 3, 2015, at 9:00am, Beaumont Hospital - Wayne will be holding its 25th Annual RED OCTOBER RUN. This year’s run will consist of two races being run simultaneously. In the past this event has attracted participants from all around Michigan, several other states, and Canada. The races, a 10K (6.2 miles) and a 5K (3.1 miles), will start around 10:00am on Annapolis west of Venoy. It is anticipated the last of the 10K runners will be done by 12:00 noon.

If you live on the listed stretches of the following streets, PARKING WILL BE TEMPORARILY RESTRICTED AND THOSE RESTRICTIONS WILL BE ENFORCED BETWEEN 12:01AM AND 12:00 NOON ON OCTOBER 3, 2015.

*On Forest between Biddle and Third, Edmund and Carnegie, and Howe to Venoy , NO PARKING on either side of the street

*On Annapolis between First and Venoy, NO PARKING on either side of the street

*On Clinton between Newberry and Second, NO PARKING on either side of the street

*On Second between Harroun and Clinton, NO PARKING on the either side of the street

*On Howe between Van Born and Forest, NO PARKING on either side of the street

*On Venoy between Annapolis and Forest, on the west side a lane will be coned off

Vehicles parked in the above listed areas on race day will be ticketed, and may be towed at the owner’s expense.

If you live on the listed stretches of this next list of streets, runners will be running past your house. We are NOT mandating restricted parking in these areas. We are asking that you voluntarily move your vehicles to better accommodate the runners and the spectators (everyone is encouraged to come out and cheer the runners on). Please be considerate and make arrangements to park your vehicles in your driveways between 9:30am and the end of the race.

*On Glover between Carnegie and Howe
*On Newberry between Stellwagen and Clinton
*On Biddle between Winslow and Clinton
*On Third between Annapolis and Forest
*On Edmund between Annapolis and Forest
*On Carnegie between Glover and Stellwagen
*On Carnegie between Annapolis and Forest

As previously mentioned, there will be runners from all over the State of Michigan participating in this race. This is a great opportunity for the residents of Wayne to show our community spirit.
