Citizen Police Academy Begins Jan. 28 
The 23rd session of the Citizen Police Academy will begin Thursday, January 28, 2010, at 6:15 p.m., at Police Headquarters, 3035 Lexington Rd.
This is a 12-week course with classes held one night a week for three hours. Instruction includes patrol functions, criminal investigation, communications and 911, crime prevention, K-9, SRT, and many other functions of the police department.
Applicants must live or work in Athens-Clarke County, be at least 18 years of age, and pass a criminal background check. Persons interested in attending should contact Savannah Hembree at 706-613-3888 X233 for an application.
